Spanish alley bar

A sliver of Spain wedged into a Chinatown alley — vermouth, tinned fish, string lights.

Barely wider than a corridor, El Chiringuito serves house vermouth, gin tonics in balloon glasses and plates of conservas under a run of bulbs. Half the seating is on stools in the alley itself, which is exactly where you want to be. It's loose, cheap and one of the friendliest rooms in the neighbourhood.
